[ So it turns out that while Mitsuru is actually someone who is entirely used to have servants at her disposal back home, having to witness lower ranks outright forced into serving royal ones like her is another matter entirely. In fact she had been doing her best to avoid monopolising anyone for her exclusive use during the banquet at the Gilded Cage, however one of her entourage apparently couldn't stand seeing the queen of hearts not being doted on and served by one of the lower ranks and had seen fit to fetch and assign a pretty red haired young woman to her. She doesn't look all that different in age to Mitsuru herself, which adds another layer of guilt and empathy for her new attendant.

Dressed in flowing white robes and a garland of silver flowers nestled in her long red hair while she sits upon a throne, Mitsuru looks regal, even if she does feel slightly ridiculous. This whole situation is ridiculous. She fixes Rise with an apologetic look in her eye as she appraises her. ]

I must apologise for this. Although I think it will go better for both of us if we just play along for now.

[ It could be worse she reasons. At least if Mitsuru takes charge of her then she can't go to anyone else who might treat her badly tonight. ]

[Okay, being a servant is... annoying, to say the least. It's not entirely dissimilar to working at her grandparents' tofu store in Inaba, but at least there if a customer got unruly she could ask them to leave.

And also there wasn't a weird permanent undercurrent of sexuality to the whole thing. She's pretty sure she's never been less sexy than when she was working the tofu store.

As it is, the maid costume is cute, at least, but the skirt is waaaaay too short, and Rise is pretty sure if she bends over to get anything then the world can see her ass.

However, it could be worse. The lady she's been told to wait on hand and foot is around her age, maybe a couple of years older. And damn if she doesn't look like a queen - more like a goddess. Rise can appreciate a pretty girl; who can't?] Yeah, I'm kind of realizing that there's not much use in fighting the system here if you don't have to. [She says with a sigh.

And then gives the other girl a wry smile and a curtsy.] Oh well~

[She doesn't hate playing this role. It's kind of fun to be a tease.]

That would be the wisest choice.

[ Not that Mitsuru isn't keep her eyes peeled for any opportunity to find a way out for all of them. You just have to be subtle about it. Rebelling at a gathering like this would not be subtle.

This girl has more guts than her for wearing such an outfit and not wanting to completely retreat into a corner she thinks. And the way she immediately starts playing along - well then, being addressed in such a way immediately has Mitsuru carefully upping her attempts not to look flustered. ]

You could start by telling me your name. I have no desire to address you as "servant". [ Pause. ] Unless that is your preference of course.

[ It is for some people... she'd learned about that kind of thing since being here. ]

[With a practiced idol smile, she gives Mitsuru a heart symbol with her hands in front of her chest. Can you hear the sparkle?] It's nice to meet ya, Miss Kirijo!

[ The sparkle is practically audible, it's true. She cannot deny that this girl is infectiously charming. Her vibe sort of reminds her of someone... ]

[ It's not the first time Mitsuru has encountered someone from the same world as her - or at least some variation of it. The timelines tend to vary and be quite mixed up in her experience. It still takes her by surprise when she does encounter someone like that though, against all probable odds and her eyebrows raise inquisitively. ]

Perhaps you might be familiar with the Kirijo Group?

[ Mitsuru nods - yes, the super-huge corporation. Naturally, she doesn't want to go into that she is taking the reins of the Group at such a young age rather than later because of the loss of her father. She had learned to live with her loss and to keep moving forward but it was hardly a matter of party conversation, especially to someone she had just met. ]

I don't manage things single-handedly by all means. The Board of Directors have a say in all almost all matters and-

[ She pauses. This can't be interesting can it? She's not at one of those executive parties right now. ]

Yes, I suppose I am young to be in such a position.

Not usually. My agency back home was pretty professional, so they normally prepared our songs. But I did craft my own image, and I did work on the lyrics for my solo songs! I finished workshopping the lyrics for my second solo here, in fact.

That friend from home I mentioned has lots more experience making music, though, so your voice would be in good hands! I'll let him know you're interested! 😊

But as for the blind date, I should probably mention it's the same person. My composer friend, that is. I'm trying to get him to socialize more!

[Now, the heartbeat? Disturbing, hard to deal with, and destroys beauty sleep. Honestly, she's found it difficult to work with and has been pouty about it in private. Still, on the outside, she is all smiles, once she freshens up and determines herself to make sure that she is enjoying every day as much as she can, refusing to let some weird supernatural heartbeats deter her from it. Besides, asking around didn't really yield any fruitful results, so she decides to wait it out and see.

Still, there's one good thing about all her info gathering. She found out about a new cafe! The place has quite a few small ones scattered about, so she hadn't been sure where to go when in the past she only had Coff Cafe as her main choice. Having one with cats and music? That one sounded really fun!

And it might even be a good distraction to all of this.

Which is how she finds herself humming cheerfully as she goes to the cafe, swinging the door open and listening to the jingle of the bell before--- nearly crashing right into someone. Oops. She sidesteps and twirls at the last second to avoid collision, hands going to her lips in a soft gasp.]

[Astra isn't the only one who's been trying to calm herself down from the omnipresent heartbeat by visiting the cat cafe. They're just so damn cute, and sipping some fruity tea while she watches two kittens wrestle is almost enough to make her completely block that sound out.

But, alas, she should really be heading out now, as much as she doesn't want to. So she's headed to put her tea in the tray for washing, when--

--that had been close! Rise's fortunate her tea had been empty, or she could have really wound up with a soaked blouse. But as it is, she steps back and to the side, and there's no collision.
